Outside of School

Outside of school, I play sports usually. My main sport is tennis. I've been playing tennis since I was in 6th Grade. I plan on continuing my tennis career in college as well. I won many tennis tournaments in my high school career. Some of my many achievements in the sport have been an All conference award, 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, and a regional tournament gold medal. In my senior year, I help lead our tennis team to our state tournament for the first time since 2012.
Tennis has taught me some very important life lessons throughout the years. These lessons were to be competitive no matter what, to keep your cool, and never settle for a second place. In tennis, you have to be very competitive. If you get caught running through the motions of the sport, your opponent will capitalize on that error and defeat you. I learned how to keep my cool because of the way I was playing if I was trailing my opponent. I used to get angry at myself, which caused me to lose more points. I changed my mentality to keep my head cool so I can up my game even more. I am a very competitive person. As a result, I used to never settle for second place.
